Acurast Protocol Upgrade: Enhancing Performance, Scalability, and Usability
We’ve rolled out important enhancements to the Acurast Protocol, significantly boosting transaction speed and network efficiency.
This new protocol upgrade improves the performance up to 10x compared to the previous protocol upgrade, this protocol upgrade lands right on time — scaling TPS to handle surging activity as new rebels join the mission. With a 100x performance boost already achieved, massive kudos to the protocol team for pushing the limits!
What’s New in This Upgrade?
Improved Transaction Throughput
We have integrated the Weight Reclaim Substrate feature, a crucial optimization that enhances how transactions are processed. By reclaiming unused weight in transactions, this feature significantly boosts throughput, allowing the network to handle more transactions efficiently. As a result, Acurast can support higher demand without compromising speed or performance.
Seamless Device Onboarding with QR Codes
Setting up devices on Acurast just got easier. The latest upgrade prepares the runtime to support multiple devices using the same QR code, simplifying the onboarding process for users. This enhancement is particularly beneficial for those managing large-scale deployments, making it more convenient to connect devices without generating new QR codes each time. However, this feature requires an update to the Acurast Processor app, which is not yet released.
Benchmark Data for Better Performance Insights
We are enabling the Processor to send benchmark data, a step forward in improving performance tracking across the network. By allowing devices to report key performance metrics, this upgrade provides valuable insights that will help optimize resource allocation and improve overall network efficiency. Similar to the QR code update, this feature also depends on a forthcoming Acurast Processor app update.
Internal Enhancements for a Stronger Network
Beyond these major updates, we have implemented various internal improvements to make the protocol more efficient, secure, and resilient. These refinements ensure that Acurast continues to deliver high-performance decentralized compute while maintaining stability.
What’s Next?
With these upgrades, Acurast is better positioned to support large-scale decentralized compute operations.
The next step is the release of the updated Acurast Processor app, which will unlock the new onboarding and benchmarking capabilities. This will happen in the following days.
As we continue to refine the network, we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of decentralized compute.
