This program is open to community members, infrastructure providers, and enthusiasts who wish to actively participate in Acurast's growth by running collators and supporting the network’s decentralization and security.

What is a Collator?

In the Acurast ecosystem, collators are responsible for:

  • Gathering and validating transactions,
  • Producing candidate blocks,
  • Submitting blocks to the relay chain validators.

Unlike validators, collators do not finalize blocks themselves but are essential to the functioning and scalability of the Acurast Canary network.

Objective

  • Decentralize the Acurast Canary network by increasing the number and diversity of independent collators.
  • Support reliable and performant infrastructure through incentives and collaboration.
  • Encourage ecosystem growth by onboarding technically skilled community members.

Collator Incentives

Selected participants in the Acurast Collator Program will receive:

  • Delegated stake from the Acurast Association to boost their chances of being selected as active collators.
  • Performance-based rewards, based on uptime and block production.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the program, candidates must:

  1. Setup and run a reliable collator node for Acurast Canary.
  2. Successfully complete the due diligence screening process
  3. Have a dedicated email address for availability in case of emergency upgrades and fixes
  4. Demonstrate technical proficiency in running and maintaining blockchain infrastructure.

Other non-mandatory factors that could positively impact your application include:

  • Geographic location
  • Participation in early Acurast initiatives like Processor onboardings, Cloud Rebellion etc.
  • Be an active and responsive community member (Discord, GitHub, etc.).
  • Development and maintenance of developer tooling, services, applications, or dashboards
  • Contributions to documentation, guides, and tutorials
  • Quality of infrastructure
  • No Cloud-based infrastructure

Ineligibility:

  • Individuals or entities affiliated with centralized exchanges or custodial service providers are not eligible to participate

How to Apply

  1. Fill out the Collator Application Form.
  2. Setup your node and submit your on-chain node (collator) address.
  3. Provide infrastructure details (cloud/on-premise, redundancy, location).
  4. Optional: Share previous contributions to Acurast or similar ecosystems.

Let’s Build Together for the Cloud Rebellion

The Acurast Collator Program is not just an infrastructure initiative — it’s a step toward decentralized, permissionless, and confidential compute. By joining, you’ll be part of a growing movement to enable private and secure execution across the decentralized web.
