Clarifying Season 3 Changes: MIST Distribution & Referral Quest Fixes
With Season 3 of The Cloud Rebellion well underway, we’ve seen some uncertainty regarding MIST distribution — especially around heartbeats — and a bug affecting the “Recruit for the Rebellion” quest. We want to set the record straight and ensure transparency about these changes.
MIST Distribution Adjustments: A More Balanced Playing Field
In Season 3, we’ve rebalanced MIST rewards to create a level playing field, especially for participants with smaller farms. Previously, large farms had a significant advantage by generating excessive MIST from heartbeats, making it nearly impossible for smaller players to ascend the leaderboard.
To counter this, we’ve shifted focus toward quests and community engagement for earning MIST while reducing the emphasis on heartbeats for the Cloud Rebellion platform. This adjustment is both strategic and justified — heartbeats are already incentivized through earned cACUs, so further rewarding them with MIST was excessive.
Everyone, including large farms, still receives the full cACU rewards as before to recognize their important contributions. Our goal is to attract new users, boost participation, and foster Acurast’s growth. Ultimately, this change not only levels the competitive field but also prevents leaderboard stagnation, ensuring that The Cloud Rebellion remains dynamic and engaging for all participants.
Recruit for the Rebellion Quest Update
We’re leveling the playing field by resetting the count of recruited persons so that only new recruits from Season 3 are considered. Previously, due to a bug, all invites (starting from Season 1 onward) were counted. This allowed some participants to reach higher recruitment levels and earn rewards faster than intended.
We’re fixing this issue in the next few days, and any extra MIST given because of the bug will be adjusted. Our goal is to ensure everyone starts fresh each season and has a fair chance to earn rewards.
